“ Incredible place, service, and food. They were nice enough to offer me a sample of a soup before ordering. The food was delicious, service was quick, and it was bit hit with myself and my parents. My parents will return whenever they find themselves in Newark and it might just be my regular pre Airplane ride home going forward. ”
“ Well prepared and good size portions. Had the roast pork and roast chicken. Server was very helpful and explained the dishes very well. ”
“ Great place for lunch in the downtown Newark area. I had the grilled chicken breast which was moist and tasty. A very filling lunch and the serving sizes were big enough to be full and have enough to bring home for leftovers. Only slight downside is for a restaurant in a downtown area catered to business professionals going in their lunch hour, the service was slow and was tough to squeeze lunch within an hour. ”
“ Started the meal with Alcappuria de masa .( Banana fritter stuffed with meat) they also had all the staples. mofongo, arroz con gandules, relleno de papa, chicharrón de pollo. A den of delicacies. Authentic Puerto Rican styled cooking with a great ambiance. Waitress was accommodating even with our party of 10. Reasonably priced and the portions were more than enough. A gem in Newark ”
“ Our first time here. Great name. Having the gandules soup and fried fish rice and beans. Large mofongo select like 20 diff ways. Have to come back to try more things. ”
“ Good food Good service with friendly staff Cheap and affordable pricing, esp lunch specials Busy and great vibe! ”
“ Love me some Tainos. Maytee is the best!! I come to lunch here and I also cater from her. The food is great! Portions should be a tad bit bigger for the price. But service for me is always excellent and food is freshly made!! I highly recommend . ”
“ When I say always on point! I mean that. True Puerto Rican food done right. Atmosphere has Tiano symbolism that delights my heart being of my lineage and bloodline. It's so great to see Tianos progressing over the years and still dishing out the best dishes. We've tried it all from the well seasoned pernil, to the chuletas, chicharron de pollo, mofongo with shrimp or steak. The alcapurrias come in traditional masa (green plaintain) or in yuca and they're both really good, but yuca is my definite favorite. Service is always accommodating and impeccable. They have a lot of menu selections to choose from, and I say Go for it all! Their flan is lovely, and I love that they have diffraction types to choose from. I love the vanilla and coco. Great Spanish food is hard to find in this area, but Tainos serves justice to the Boriken name. ”
“ Delicious Authentic !Food service was on point! Sancocho was hearty! Beans were delicious will definitely be back. ”
“ Food was delicious, I had the bistec guisado (stewed beef ) with white rice, beans and tostones and I need the biggest nap right now. Beans tasted like my grandma's but like with a lil extra something (don't tell her I said that) rice was super flufy and the beef made me feel like a kid sitting at the kitchen table waiting for my grandma to give me some pegao. Delicious Puerto rican food done right! It was super busy since they just had the grand opening last night. The layout is a little weird since all of these people were just standing around us waiting for their takeout while I was eating. Not a big deal though as that will most likely get sorted out soon. I'll be back really soon folks I look forward to years of good food. Thanks for a great meal and good luck. ”
